We have been members of the FLVA
for the past seven years for all our three outlets
which gives us piece of mind knowing we are able
to source very easily professional advice on a whole
range of topics affecting our business.
We are also regular attendees
at the FLVA annual conference not just because of
the social side but also for the excellent seminars.
Over the last four / five years
the speakers at these informal seminars have provided
so much help on numerous topics including the run
up to the implementation of the 2003 Licensing Act;
we never felt out of the picture whatever came up
in the press or was mentioned by our BDM.
The 2006 AGM speakers from trade
bodies in Ireland and Scotland gave us an opportunity
to think about how the smoking ban would affect us.
We got useful contacts for second hand refurbished
furniture and outdoor heating.
The 2007 conference speakers
were especially diverse and enthusiastic; we came
away with ideas on pensions, food and outdoor areas
that we very likely would not have thought of ourselves.
Let us face it we are so busy just running a pub
it is good to get time out to look at the business.
What is more we get the chance to network with other
licensees, discuss ideas, pick brains, pump the experienced
and harangue pub company representatives.
We regard our attendance at the
FLVA seminars as an essential part of being a professional
licensee or should I say a designated premises supervisor.

Sending a note to thank you for all your help since
we have been members of the FLVA.
We are leaving the trade after 30 years to pursue
other interests!
We have always admired your enthusiasm for the
licensed trade, your intimate knowledge of all
things license related and beyond, and your friendly
and helpful manner both in person and on the 'phone
and for fighting our corner, long may you continue,
as the industry needs all help it can get at this
time and for the foreseeable future.
Many thanks once again.

We
feel we must write and thank you for all the
help and support you have given us during our
recent tribunal. We had some doubts in
our minds and knew that life would have been
much easier if we had just offered some money.
We
decided to press forward only because we knew
we had your help and guidance behind us.
We
are going to write to our LVA singing the praises
about the fantastic support given to us by the
FLVA. |
